PSALM 23
The Lord, the Psalmist’s Shepherd.
A Psalm of David.
1The Lord is my shepherd,
I will not be in need.
2He lets me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside #23.2: Lit waters of restquiet waters.
3He restores my soul;
He guides me in the #23.3: Lit trackspaths of righteousness
For the sake of His name.
4¶Even though I walk through the #23.4: Or valley of deep darknessvalley of the shadow of death,
I fear no #23.4: Or harmevil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You #23.5: Or anointhave anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
6 # 23.6: Or Only Certainly goodness and #23.6: Or mercyfaithfulness will follow me all the days of my life,
And my dwelling will be in the house of the Lord #23.6: Lit for length of daysforever.
