Can any man forbid the water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we?


“Can anyone refuse water for these people to be baptized, since they have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?”


Can anyone forbid or refuse water for baptizing these people, seeing that they have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?


Then Peter responded, "How could anyone prohibit water, so that those who have received the Holy Spirit would not be baptized, just as we also have been?"


“Can anyone withhold water and prevent these people from being baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”


“These people have received the Holy Spirit just as we have. Surely no one can stop them from being baptized with water, can they?”

‘God has clearly given his Holy Spirit to these people, in the same way that he gave him to us. So we should now baptize them with water. You surely agree that this is the right thing to do.’


“Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”

Then Peter asked, “Is anybody going to prevent them being baptized in water, since they have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”


“No one can refuse to baptize these people with water. They have received the Holy Spirit in the same way that we did.”
