Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

Then Joram sent out a second horseman, who approached them and said, “Thus says the king: ‘Do you come in peace?’ ” Jehu replied, “What have you to do with peace? Rein in behind me.”

Then Joram sent out a second man on horseback, who came to them and said, Thus says the king: Is it peace? Jehu replied, What have you to do with peace? Ride behind me.

So Joram sent out another rider, who rode up to Jehu and said, “The king wants to know if this is a friendly visit.” “What's it to you?” Jehu asked. “Just get behind me with the rest of my troops!”

Another messenger was sent out, who asked Jehu the same question. Again Jehu answered, “That's none of your business! Fall in behind me.”

So he sent out a second horseman, who went to them and said, “This is what the king asks: ‘Do you come in peace? ’ ” Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me.”

Then he sent a second horseman, and he came to them and said, “This is what the king says: ‘Is your intention peace?’ ” And Jehu answered, “How is peace any business of yours? Turn and follow me.”

Then he sent out a second horseman, who came to them and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’ ” And Jehu answered, “What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me.”

Then Joram sent out a second horseman. This rider came to Jehu’s group and said, “This is what the king says: ‘Is all in order?’ ” Jehu answered, “Why bother yourself with order? Come along behind me.

So he sent a second horseman out to them and he said, “This is what the king says, ‘Is everything all right?’” Jehu replied, “None of your business! Follow me.”

So the king sent out a second horseman. When he came to them, he said, “The king asks, ‘Are you coming in peace?’ ” Jehu replied, “What do you know about peace? Get in line behind me.”
