Habakkuk, 2:4

Behold, his soul is puffed up, it is not upright in him; but the righteous shall live by his faith.

“Look at the proud one, His soul is not right within him, But the righteous will live by his faith [in the true God].

Some people’s desires are truly audacious; they don’t do the right thing. But the righteous person will live honestly.

“Look at the proud: he is inwardly not upright; but the righteous will attain life through trusting faithfulness.

“I, the LORD, refuse to accept anyone who is proud. Only those who live by faith are acceptable to me.”

Behold, his soul is puffed up, it is not upright within him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Behold, he that is unbelieving, his soul shall not be right in himself: but the just shall live in his faith.

Look now! The enemy is very proud. They do not want to do what is right. But righteous people will live because of their faith in God.

Look at those who are proud! They do not live right. But those who live right do so through their trust in God.

And this is the message: ‘Those who are evil will not survive, but those who are righteous will live because they are faithful to God.’ ”

The evil nation is very proud of itself; it is not living as it should. But those who are right with God will live by faith.

Look, the one whose desires are not upright will faint from exhaustion, but the person of integrity will live because of his faithfulness.

“The Babylonians are very proud. What they want is not good. “But the person who is godly will live by his faithfulness.

“See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness
