Deuteronomy, 32:27

Were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, Lest their adversaries should judge amiss, Lest they should say, Our hand is exalted, And Jehovah hath not done all this.

Had I not feared the provocation of the enemy, That their adversaries would misjudge, That they would say, “Our [own] hand has prevailed, And the LORD has not done all this.” ’

Had I not feared the provocation of the foe, lest their enemies misconstrue it and lest they should say, Our own hand has prevailed; all this was not the work of the Lord.

But because of the wrath of the enemies, I have delayed it. Otherwise, perhaps their enemies would be arrogant and would say: "Our exalted hand, and not the Lord, has done all these things."

if I had not feared provocation from the enemy, or feared that these foes might misunderstand and say, ‘Our own hand has prevailed; it wasn’t the LORD who did all this.’”

but their enemies’ rage concerned me; their opponents might misunderstand. They might say, “Our strong hands, not the LORD’s, did all this,”

but I feared the insolence of their enemy, feared that their foes would mistakenly think, “We ourselves accomplished this; ADONAI had nothing to do with it.”

But I dreaded the sound of your enemies saying, ‘We defeated Israel with no help from the LORD.’ ”

But I dreaded the sound of your enemies saying, ‘We defeated Israel with no help from the LORD.’ ”

But I dreaded the sound of your enemies saying, ‘We defeated Israel with no help from the LORD.’ ”

If I did not fear provocation from the enemy, Lest their adversaries should misunderstand it, Lest they should say, Our hand is high, and Jehovah has not done all this.

But for the wrath of the enemies I have deferred it: lest perhaps their enemies might be proud, and should say: Our mighty hand, and not the Lord, hath done all these things.

But then their enemies would boast. They would not understand. They would say, “We have destroyed these people with our own strength! The LORD has not done this!” ’

had I not feared provocation by the enemy, lest their adversaries should misunderstand, lest they should say, “Our hand is triumphant, it was not the LORD who did all this.”’

if I had not dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest their adversaries misunderstand and say: ‘Our own hand has prevailed; it was not the LORD who did all this.’”

but I didn't want to hear their conquerors jeering, their enemies misunderstanding what had happened and saying, ‘We won all by ourselves, the Lord didn't have anything to do with it.’

But I didn’t want their enemies to make me angry. I didn’t want their opponents to misunderstand and say, ‘We won this victory! It wasn’t the LORD who did all this!’ ”

Saue that I feared the furie of the enemie, least their aduersaries should waxe proude, and least they should say, Our hie hande and not the Lord hath done all this

But I could not let their enemies boast that they had defeated my people, when it was I myself who had crushed them.’

But I could not let their enemies boast that they had defeated my people, when it was I myself who had crushed them.’

But I could not let their enemies boast that they had defeated my people, when it was I myself who had crushed them.’

But I could not let their enemies boast that they had defeated my people, when it was I myself who had crushed them.’

if I had not feared insult from the enemy, or feared that these foes might misunderstand and say: ‘Our own hand has prevailed; it wasn’t the LORD who did all this.’ ”

But I know what their enemies would say. The enemy would not understand. They would brag and say, “The LORD did not destroy Israel. We won by our own power!”’

But I didn’t want their enemy to brag. Their enemy might misunderstand. They might say, ‘We have won! The Lord has done none of this.’”

if I did not fear the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should become vain and lest they should say, Our high hand has done this and not the LORD.

Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, Lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, And lest they should say, Our hand is high, And the LORD hath not done all this.

Had I not feared the provocation by the enemy, Lest their adversaries misjudge, Lest they say, “Our hand is triumphant, And Yahweh has not done all this.” ’

If I had not feared a provocation of the enemy, lest their foes might misunderstand, lest they should say, “Our hand is triumphant, and Yahweh did not do all this.” ’

however, I feared the wrath of the enemy, that their adversaries would misunderstand and say, “Our hand is victorious, and the LORD has not done all this.”

Had I not feared the provocation by the enemy, that their foes might misunderstand, And say, “Our own hand won the victory; the LORD had nothing to do with any of it.”

Had I not feared the provocation by the enemy, That their adversaries would misjudge, That they would say, “Our hand is triumphant, And the LORD has not performed all this.” ’

But I didn’t want their enemy to brag; their enemy might misunderstand and say, ‘We have won! The LORD has done none of this.’ ”

But I fear the reaction of their enemies, for their adversaries would misunderstand and say, “Our power is great, and the LORD has not done all this!”’

But I was afraid their enemies would make fun of that. I was afraid their attackers would not understand. I was sure they would say, ‘We’re the ones who’ve beaten them! The LORD isn’t the one who did
